Pet Companion Contract
No Breeding Contract/Limited AKC Registration

This agreement refers to a male/female Welsh Springer Spaniel puppy whelped _______________.
Sired by: ______________________________ AKC# ____________

Out of: ______________________________ AKC# ____________

This puppy is being sold as a companion with the understanding that he is not to be bred under any circumstances at anytime. AKC limited registration prevents the registration of any puppies produced by this dog. Dogs with limited registration are not allowed entry into Conformation shows, but are eligible to compete in matches, obedience trials, agility tests and hunting tests. This puppy is being sold for the amount of $1500.00.

Every effort has been made to breed a healthy dog from sound, healthy stock. Development of hip dysplasia, epilepsy, eye problems or any other health issues cannot be predicted by the breeder. The puppy has been microchipped for identification, received its first puppy vaccination and has been treated for intestinal parasites.

The owner agrees to have the puppy receive all normal vaccines and veterinary care including preventatives for heartworm, Parvovirus and Lyme disease (in endemic areas). The owner agrees to vaccinate for Rabies according to their state law. The owner also agrees to spay their puppy at their veterinarian’s advice.

The owner agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within a week of pick up. If any unsoundness is noted at that time the Owner should immediately contact the Breeder. The Breeder agrees to refund full purchase price of the puppy if it is returned within a reasonable timeframe and provided the puppy is returned in the same condition it was in on the date of sale. Should the condition of the puppy warrant veterinary care the cost of such care will be deducted from the amount refunded. Any cost to return the dog will be the responsibility of the buyer.

The Breeder agrees to replace the puppy if it is diagnosed within a year of the date of birth with the following illnesses:

1)     hip dysplasia

2)     elbow dysplasia

3)     idiopathic epilepsy as confirmed by a licensed veterinarian following a full health work up including blood tests (to include hypoglycemia/diabetes; thyroid function-T3,T4, TSH; check for heavy metals) plus ruling out poison, tumor or trauma as the cause of the symptoms

The breeder is not financially responsible for any veterinarian costs in regards to hip or elbow dysplasia, hypothyroidism, epilepsy, eye anomalies or any health problems which the puppy may develop.

The owner agrees to promptly notify the breeder of any health problems the dog may develop to maintain proper breeding records. This dog is being sold with the intention of providing companionship to the owner for the rest of the dog’s natural life. If for some reason the Owner cannot keep the dog, the owner agrees to return the dog to the breeder. Under no circumstances should the dog be placed in an animal shelter.

I (We) hereby understand and agree to all terms and conditions set forth in this contract. I (We) understand this contract is enforceable under current American Kennel Club rules regarding Contracts & Registration Matters.
